Informal wedding dresses are becoming the IN thing today. Not only are the gowns leaning more toward informal - but brides have chosen to move away from the traditional white Victorian style gown. It is becoming more common to see the blushing bride sporting colors ranging from the light pastels of a few years ago to the more subdued shades of greens, browns, purples, and pinks.

Choosing a wedding dress is an important decision. Wedding dresses set the tone for the entire day. On no other day does a woman feel this special. Some women choose to pull out all the stops for their wedding dresses. Designers such as Vera Wang provide tasteful, high end gowns for those brides for whom money is no object.

Not everyone needs to go with a designer wedding dress, however. Some brides, such as those who dream of a beach wedding, prefer something a bit more informal. A bride on a budget might prefer to make her own dress, or look for one secondhand. In fact, there are even those who prefer to rent a dress, than pay money for something they'll only wear once.

Some brides prefer a wedding with a theme and go with a Medieval or Renaissance wedding dress. For them, nothing says romance or feeling like a princess than going back in time.
